Dissipation of imidacloprid in Orthodox tea and its transfer from made tea to infusion

چکیده
Imidacloprid is a systemic insecticide used widely in controlling mites, mealy bugs and other related pests in fruits, vegetables and tea. The dissipation behaviour of imidacloprid residues in green tea shoots, made tea and its transfer potential from made tea to infusion in hot water was studied. Analysis in tea matrices of imidacloprid was carried out using high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection. Under field conditions, imidacloprid dissipation rate was found to be faster in the wet season than the dry season. Half lives in green shoots were in the range 1.14–1.23 and 1.03–1.09 days, and 1.14–1.25, 1.04–1.07 days in made tea, for the dry and wet season, respectively. The percent transfer of imidacloprid residue from made tea to infusion was in the range of 29.2–42.0% during the dry and wet season; however, 38.2% and 57.9% of the residues remained stuck to the spent leaves during the dry and wet seasons, respectively. On the basis of transfer of residues from made tea to hot water infusion, a waiting period of 7 days after pesticide application at a recommended dose for tea plucking is suggested. 2007 Elsevier Ltd. Dissipation behavior of octachlorodipropyl ether residues during tea planting and brewing process
The dissipation behavior of octachlorodipropyl ether (OCDPE) residues in fresh tea shoots and in tea prepared under field conditions was investigated, and the transfer of residues from brewed tea to tea infusion was determined. OCDPE levels in tea shoots, prepared tea, tea infusion, and spent tea leaves were determined using a sensitive and simple method. The dissipation of OCDPE is fairly slow...
متن کاملOptimization of Fermentation Time for Iranian Black Tea Production
The optimum fermentation times of black tea manufactured by two systems of Orthodox and CTC (cut, tear & curl) were investigated by measuring the quality parameters of black tea, like: theaflavin, thearubigin, highly polymerized substances and total liquid colour during the fermentation stage. Optimum fermentation times from the beginning of fermentation were determined to be 60 min and 15...

Introduction & Objective: Tea is one of the most commonly consumed drinks in the world. Tea is recognized as a source of fluoride whose intake may increase the risk of developing dental fluorosis, particularly if other sources of fluoride augment the intake. Since the amount of fluoride in different types of tea consumed in our country is unknown, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the...
متن کاملStudy on lead levels in infusion time of imported green and black tea (Camellia sinensis L)
Background: Nowadays, tea is the most popular and frequently consumed beverages in the world after water. There are some beneficial trace elements in tea such as fluoride, caffeine and essential minerals, although there may be heavy metals in tea leaves which threat seriously human health. Therefore, the main objective of current study was to determine and monitor lead content in imported black...
متن کاملTransfer of 226Ra and 137Cs from tea leaves to drinking tea
Background: Two of the important radionuclides which are entered to environment and human diet are radium-226 (226Ra) and cesium-137 (137Cs). It is clear that the methods for preparation of foods such as peeling, washing, cooking or frying can affect the dose which is received by human due the to consumption of foodstuffs. An experiment has been performed at the environmental monitoring section...
